A Modern Rustic Dining Room/Bar Makeover: Before & After
If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll have seen all of our craziness around the house with projects, painting, demo-ing, building, decorating, and everything else. I’m excited to finally share one project from this bachelor pad that is actually finished! Check out below for the dining room/bar area B&A and how we did it.

The first thing to go was the furniture! I found this old table on OfferUp for super cheap – I plan on refurbishing it to make it match the wood on the chairs, but white is fine for now! I found both the chairs and pendant light on Wayfair, and the end table from Joss & Main. (See below for links to all the products that you can still find online, otherwise my recommendations of the most similar ones.)
The second thing to go was that ugly mirror above the bar – this demo was tough and scary (I even wore goggles LOL). First we tried to tape it and hit it with a hammer, but the mirror was way too strong for us. We ended up using a yardstick to pry it off the wall in pieces.
THEN, I made these cool floating shelves. Yeah, myself! This was a tough DIY but sooo worth it for the finished product – I will post the DIY for this soon!
