My bestie Ashley from Layered in Luxe and I went on a trip to San Francisco a couple weekends ago and I fell in love. We stayed at the Powell Hotel, which was the cutest boutique hotel in the heart of the city. We were in between Forever 21 and Sephora, and right across from Westfield Centre where we checked out Nordstrom and went on a crazy spree at Zara. Not to mention, we were just a few doors down from H&M…of course we randomly picked a hotel that was in the middle of shopping. The cable car stopped right outside our window, so we could hear the excited city buzz of the hustle and bustle below us and I loved that! It didn’t hurt that the hotel hosted a free cocktail hour with drinks and hors d’oeuvres every weeknight. Basically, it was a match made in heaven!

The first day we got there, we walked around and saw the city around our hotel. That evening, I went to style with Stitch Fix, and had a blast! Afterwards, we went to dinner at ENO and I gave in to this amazing charcuterie and cheese plate…that’s definitely my weak spot. We went out that night to this super cute underground bar that had the most delicious freshly squeezed fruit cocktails. I went with a version of a greyhound, which they call the ‘bloodhound’. Instead of grapefruits, they use blood oranges. It was hands down the best drink I’ve ever had.

The next day, we were super tourists. We got brunch at Neiman Marcus (which, by the way, was the most gorgeous Neiman’s I’ve ever seen), and I had the best, spiciest Bloody Mary! We took a cable car to check out Ghirardelli Square, and walked all the way down to Pier 1 where we got macaroons and stopped at the Slanted Door for a glass of vino. We walked all the way back to the hotel through the financial district and I had the opportunity to annoy Ashley a lot by stopping and taking tons of pictures. That night, we went to the cutest authentic Italian restaurant called Trattoria Contadina, where I got an amazing seafood linguine. We then went to the top of the Mark Hotel which had the best view of SF! We went out to a couple bars in North Beach and to a friend’s apartment that overlooked the Golden Gate bridge in the Marina…it was beautiful.

Our last day (tear) we got mimosas and went shopping around Union Square (what is shopping without champagne?). I got these amazing Kurt Geiger heels (I’ll post them in a blog soon). Then we walked through Chinatown to get the yummiest dim sum at the most amazing dim sum restaurant! All in all, SF was amazing and I’m going back ASAP!

travel well & travel often,
